Hi Nick

As discussed last time, can we have your client lists which are currently using your scheme? Are they mostly in HK or overseas?

What happen if our total premium used up in that year? Does that mean the school need to bear this financial risk?

Who will handle the individual medical claims daily? What happen if there are any claim disputes? What is the school's legal position if we are sued by staff re claims?

1/3 of our staff are Cantonese speaking, do you have any language support from your back office team?

Hi Adrian,

I have itemised your questions (from email and this forum) and replied below for ease of reference. You have asked some very specific questions but we do not as yet have a specific set of cover and benefits agreed upon so I have supplied general answers in the hope this helps.

Q - Current users
A - The service is new and we have only been talking to schools since January this year. I am talking to schools throughout HK and overseas.

Q - What happen if our total premium used up in that year? Does that mean the school need to bear this financial risk?
A - We would ensure stop loss cover is in place so the school would not be required to meet any extra expenditure or bear any financial risk.

Q - Daily medical claims
A - If you used the card there would be no claims for out patient. Inpatient treatment would be handled in the same manner as you currently do. Hospital contact the insurer to ensure teacher is covered and guarantee of payment is made. Again this can be simplified if the card is sued and payment made up front.

Q - What happen if there are any claim disputes?
A - These would handled in line with the agreed cover and benefits as they are now

Q - What is the school's legal position if we are sued by staff re claims?
A - If the card is used then there are no claims

Q - Language support
A - This would be supplied in line with the school's requirements

From your email:

Q - If you would like to take this further, we need to have a good comparison of what you could offer vs our existing medical benefits plan.
A - Suggest we keep things simple to start with and offer the exact same cover as you have now but simply use the card so that teachers have the same cover and benefits but have no need to make claims.
We are able to offer any type of cover the school requires. I appreciate this may seem to offer too much choice so suggest in the first year we would offer the same cover that you currently have. Once savings have been made we are then able to start looking at how these savings can be used to enhance the medical benefits package

Q - We also need to know what kind of support (operational and administrative wise) that we could get in terms of the medical insurance side? It is impossible for the school to bring the whole administration of the medical insurance in house without any back office team support.
A - We are able to offer as much or as little support as is required. Suggest we replicate the support you currently have.

Best regards

Nick
